a visit to the shirnk

Women commiting suicide is (unfortunately) nothing new in today’s world. Several high-powered women in just over a year’s time, all shooting themselves in the same manner? That’s potential for a serial killer on the loose. This storyline fills the eighth episode with interesting twists and turns as Dexter seeks out the shrink that treated all three of these women. Twisted into this story is the return of Paul, Rita’s ex. Out of jail, he’s attempting to be the father he should have been, and it seems to be charming the kids quite nicely.

I have to admit, the Rita/Paul storyline isn’t one that holds my attentions. What I loved most about this episode were the moments shared between Dexter and the shrink, moments of Dexter confessing everything about himself. His killer nature, his unwillingness to let others get close to him, and so much more. Black comedy at it’s finest, those moments made the episode amazing.

Thrown in for good measure were plenty of discussions surrounding the Ice Truck Killer. When will his true identity be revealed?!
