Actor Spotlight - Jonathan Rhys Meyers

by Robyn Charles

With The Tudors quickly winding down, I wanted to go back to JRM and focus on what’s coming up next for this amazing actor. Most people already know some of his bio, but if you need/want/crave more info on the amazing actor, head to his IMDB page.

JRM

Currently listed as having four projects either in post, pre, or current production, some rumors swirl around what Meyers is actually still involved with since his short stint in rehab.

It is not a question that he is involved with August Rush, set to release October 19 of this year. Nor does anyone question his involvement in The Children of Huang Shi, already in post-production and set to release sometime in December.

More questionable is Meyers’ involvement in two other movies. The first, Toussaint, chronicles the life of Toussaint Louverture, a Haitian man who successfully led a slave rebellion. The most information I can find on this is that Meyers is rumored to be involved. The movie is still in pre-production.

There is also Bronte, which chronicles the lives of the Bronte sisters. IMDB still lists Meyers as part of the movie, but at least one fan site is reporting he has backed out of the project.

Be sure to check the IMDB web page and the fan site above for more up to the minute news on this star.

Thanks for the info on JRM! I love him and was wondering about the Bronte film, I really hope he stays involved since right now I think he’s the man to watch. After the Henry VIII success, and adorably chic hugo ad, I think he’s unstoppable right now! Keep up the updates!
