boxing on Showtime

One side to Showtime I rarely watch, but that gets a lot of press in other blogs, is the boxing matches that show at least once a month. This Saturday’s fight, for example, will be one I will miss due to vacationing out of town, but the fight will most likely still show in my house, as my boyfriend loves boxing.

Welter weight, heavy weight, feather weight, light and mid-weight; these terms mean little to nothing to me. But with sports like Mixed Martial Arts taking center stage (and with Showtime showing those matches as well) I have to start coming to terms with violent sport as the norm in America today.

If you’re into boxing, this Saturday’s match between Simms and Alcine is set to be a good one.
