Nurse Jackie Preview!

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

While we still don’t have a release date for Showtime’s newest comedy, we’re finally getting a glimpse at Nurse Jackie, a brilliant new comedy starring Edie Falco.

Show synopsis: NURSE JACKIE is a half-hour dark comedy that is at turns wicked, heartbreaking and funny. Edie Falco stars as the title character Jackie Peyton, a strong-willed and brilliant — but very flawed — emergency room nurse in a complicated New York City hospital. A lapsed Catholic with an occasional weakness for Vicodin and Adderall to get her through the days, Jackie keeps the hospital balanced with her own kind of justice. Every day is a high wire act of juggling patients, doctors, fellow nurses and her own indiscretions. The series also stars Eve Best, Peter Facinelli, Merritt Wever, Haaz Sleiman and Paul Schulze.

Edie Falco Could Return To 30 Rock

While she’s committed to Showtime’s newest dark comedy, Nurse Jackie until it’s finished shooting, Edie Falco isn’t ruling out the possibility of returning to 30 Rock once again as a guest.

“I can’t be on [‘30 Rock’] until [‘Nurse Jackie’] is done, but I would do it again in a heartbeat,” Falco said.

Fans loved her previous guest spot on the show, and despite her saying she was terrified when initially approached, she loved working with Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey.

Both shows shoot in NYC, so a hop over to her old guest spot wouldn’t take her very long. Episodes of Nurse Jackie will need to be finished in the coming weeks and months in order to meet their fall release, so we could see Falco back on 30 Rock as soon as this spring! Fingers Crossed!

Showtime Stars Shine At Winter TCAs

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

When Showtime featured it’s new winter/spring lineup at the TCA’s recently, there were some great quotes from celebs! Here’s a few to keep you laughing, guessing, and in general enjoying your favorite Showtime shows just a bit more!

“You get a lot more free Tudors stuff.” — Linda Wallem, executive producer of Showtime’s Nurse Jackie, after show star Edie Falco was asked about the difference between working for Showtime and her old network, HBO

“She was welcomed with a warm embrace, and she was very — she was cool. She was really quite frightening, but she was — she was just very practical and, you know, took you through your paces. That was what we liked. And she’d get a cup of tea and sit down, and, you know, people really liked her company.” — Billie Piper, star of Showtime’s Secret Diary of a Call Girl, about what it was like to have a dominatrix visit the set and act as a consultant on the show.

“Well, I think six marriages does not make a man happy.” — Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who plays Henry VIII in Showtime’s The Tudors, on whether his character is going to get less likable as the series progresses.
