Jeffrey Dean Morgan A Dad!

Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

Looks like Jeffrey Dean Morgan has a lot more on his plate! From playing The Comedian in The Watchmen to starring as dead men in several shows (ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy and of course on Weeds), now Jeffrey Dean Morgan finds out he’s a dad!

Ex-girlfriend Sherrie Rose, a producer and actor, has recently announced her four year old son is Jeffery’s. Morgan only learned of the child’s existence a few weeks ago, but has already met him, beginning to build a relationship.

Us Magazine reported the discovery, and has a source quoted as saying Morgan is “shocked and surprised, but he wants to be in the child’s life.”

After several years of dating costar Mary Louise Parker and wanting to have children, it’s so great that he finally gets to truly be a dad! Congrats Jeffrey!

Who’s The Daddy?

Weeds comes back to us on June 8, and the spoilers are already hitting the internet. The biggest one to drop so far? We may not know the identity of Nancy’s baby’s daddy after all!

The third season left us assuming the drug king Esteban was the father, but now there’s rumors it could end up being Andy, Nancy’s dead husband’s brother.

When Justin Kirk was asked if he thought the baby was his, he said, “I don’t think it is my baby. I asked about that. I’d like to think my semen was so powerful that even though we didn’t have sex, it somehow leapt across the house. I don’t really know how reproduction works, but something like that.”

While he doesn’t think he’s the father, he does hope there will be some time given to Andy’s unrequited love for Nancy.

We’ll all have to wait until June to know for sure, however!

Mary Louise Parker Talks To Esquire

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

mary-louise-parker-brownIn between her Broadway turn as Hedda Gabler and heading back to start filming a new season of Weeds (hopefully that’ll start soon!), Mary Louise Parker took time out from her busy schedule and two kids to talk to Esquire. Tops on her list? Ten types of music no man should have in their collection!

Some of the suggestions were hilarious - any recording of Carousel, any recording artist whose name is a Greek or Latin etymology (i.e. - Styx or Yanni). And some - some were just so right on the mark I laughed out loud. Those include soundtracks or singles by Olivia Newton John or John Travolta, any of the volumes from Lilith Fair, and anything released between 1984 and 1988 by a man wearing a unitard, except for Boy George.

Who can’t love her!

Mary Louise Parker Gets Set To Star In Howl

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

mlp-gotham-1(at Gotham Magazine release party)

Production is set to begin on March 16 for the film Howl, which focuses on the obscenity trial surrounding Alan Ginsberg’s famous poem.

The film, financed and produced by Werc Werk Works, is a star studded cast, including such famous names as Paul Rudd, James Franco, David Strathairn, Alan Alda,  and Jeff Daniels. And that’s just the ones being released right now, and doesn’t include all the minor roles!

I might have to go see this movie as soon as it hits our tiny theaters - I’m a huge fan of Ginsberg in general, so this movie will hopefully be amazing.

After the cut, you’ll find a ton of pictures from the release party of Parker’s Gotham Magazine cover.

Mary Louise Parker Invades Gotham!

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

Mary Louise Parker graced the latest cover of Gotham Magazine, and sat down to discuss everything from having kids to her new role on Broadway. The perennial sex symbol even went so far as campaigning to readers to follow her lead and pursue adoption.

“I remember being little and asking my parents if we could adopt. I just always was attracted to the idea, and I love what it says and I love what it means. There are millions of children in this world, and I think if you have the energy and the resources, then it’s something you should really look into.”

Parker has a son with former lover Billy Crudup, and adopted daughter Caroline Aberash in 2007. She can currently be seen on Broadway in Hedda Gabler, and the next season of Weeds should begin filming soon!

Mary Louise Parker Shows Up On Regis & Kelly, Gotham Magazine

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

mlp-gothamA little late with the updates on this one folks! Looks like my search feeds didn’t pick either up!

Mary Louise Parker has been busy since starring in Hedda Gabler on Broadway, showing her beautiful face on the January/February cover of Gotham magazine, and hitting the early morning television circuit to promote not just her Broadway turn, but I’m betting to spend a little time talking Weeds as well.

Gotta love a woman who can do it all - raise two kids, star on Broadway, star in a hit television show, and take time out to promote herself.

MLP has also sort of been in the news lately, as ex-boyfriend Billy Crudup’s past foibles are once again being dragged through the mud. Claire Danes (who was the reason for the breakup between Crudup and Parker) is rumored to be engaged to Hugh Dancy, bringing Parker back into the news for some unwanted gossip. Good to know she’s doing fine despite the drama.

Opening Night For Mary Louise Parker

Monday, January 26th, 2009

While other Showtime stars were strutting their stuff on the SAG Awards red carpet, Mary Louise Parker was across the country in New York for her opening night on Broadway! Starring in “Hedda Gabler”, Parker plays the title character, an unhappily married woman in Norway in the 1880’s with an affection for guns.

While people had been asking her to play this role for some time, Parker told Playbill it took some time for her to come around to the idea. “…it never quite felt like the right time. I never felt inspired by it. I was leaning toward [Ibsen's] Doll’s House for a while. And then [Roundabout Theatre Company artistic director] Todd Haimes suggested [director] Ian Rickson. Things just sort of snowballed after that.”

Currently performances are scheduled to run until March 29.
