Watching Showtime

So, I’ve seen this buzz on several sites, and I’m hoping that, even though they’re reputable, it’s not true. It seems Showtime execs are tired of The Tudors after just two seasons, and have decided not to renew the series for a third season. This comes as a shock, as the premiere Sunday night of the second season brought record viewers to the network. For the full details, check out this interview given by several execs.

sorry for the posting break yesterday … and it’s going to continue today. there’s some huge family stuff going on right now, and i’m finding no time to write. i’ll be back as soon as i can, but until then, here’s my picks for next week’s L Word Fantasy Challenge. (i don’t want to talk about this past week … let’s just say that i forgot that bette hooking up with tina meant “cheating” point loss as well as “sex” point gain. bad move robyn!)

Just a few things to start your day off …

• I was so quiet yesterday because I was totally thrown by the news that Heath Ledger is dead. Of all the celebs right now that you would even begin to think something like this would happen to, he was definitely not one of them. I wrote about it over at Celebrity Weasel, if you’re interested.
• We’re still having network-wide commenting issues. Apparently you all are dangerous, dangerous creatures, because I have to check my spam filter like three times a day and remove comments that are ending up there! If you comment and don’t see it show up pretty much immediately, shoot me an e-mail to let me know so I can de-flag it.

Sorry for the huge break in posting! I was on vacation, skiing with family, and assumed that there’d be internet access in the chalet we stay in. Silly Robyn, apparently people in ski towns don’t believe in the internet! So now I’m backed up on posting, on L Word watching, and I still have to check on my picks from the last episode! I’ll be trying to catch up all day, so look for posting madness to come!

So, as I’m trying to eat my pizza, I got caught up in an inadvertent fake smack talk with my girl SuzyQ, when it was brought to my attention that she is spam. According to this website at least! And when I went to check on the spam-quality of the readers here, I discovered a few more comments that had been spammafied.

I don’t yet know how to fix this,  so for the time being, if you decide to comment (and smack, it is most DEFINITELY welcome, especially in the L Word Fantasy Challenge) and don’t see it show up, shoot me an e-mail (using the link under my name in the side-bar), and let me know. I’ll start checking the spam filter regularly (read: at all) so hopefully I’ll catch them on my own, but just to be safe, drop me a line, yo.!

Just a quick note to let all of you who read this blog via some sort of feed know what’s happening in the sidebars.

First, I’ve been working behind the scenes like a mad woman, getting all the show reviews into their own categories. So now, if all you want is to view all of Weeds Season 3 show reviews, there’s a category for that! They’re all still logged under the larger “Weeds” category as well, for the purists out there.

Second, I’ve got two polls working it in the sidebars. I’d love it if you’d take the time to click on over to the actual site and help me out by filling out at least the second poll. Your answers will help tailor the look of this space for the coming months.

Happy New Year everyone! Sorry for the lack of posting the last few days, but apparently I’m one of the lucky ones who caught whatever cold/flu thing that’s been going around my neck of the woods. I finally caved today and called in sick to my day job, so I should be able to spend some time updating things while laying around the house trying to get healthy!

Well, it’s that time of year folks. I’m signing off the internet for a few days to spend some time knitting up last-minute holiday gifts and bake a million cookies, and generally enjoy the holidays with family and friends. I’ll be back next Wednesday with tons of new gossip for you, plus maybe a few stories from my holiday adventures! Hope you and yours have a good few days off, and we’ll see you in about a week!

hey all. sorry for the lack of posting yesterday. with shows ending and all that, posting might be a little more sparse, but i still intend to post every day.

however. yesterday all my best posting efforts were derailed by the shooting that happened here in omaha. i’ve been told there were reports of it all over American news. and while i know it’s not near as bad as some other shootings that have happened, it’s still rocked our tiny little city a bit. most of yesterday was spent on the phone making sure people i know and love weren’t at the mall (where it happened), and then calling all my relatives (as i live at least eight hours away from most of them) to tell them i and mine were good.

so i’ll be back later today with some more posting, but wanted to check in and apologize!

Just popping in to let everyone know posting will be a bit scarce between now and Sunday night. I’ve got family in town, so I won’t be up on any new news that comes up most likely.

I’ve got a few show reviews set to post during this time, as well as some updates and such the good people at Showtime have sent me, but I won’t be posting anything of “breaking” news until Sunday night (like, JRM’s drinking binges).

so, i had not only posted two videos that didn’t work well (so i took them down) but i had also posted a rather impressive review of the latest installment of Meadowlands. where is it now? that is the question i will be asking myself all morning. because i KNOW i wrote it. but it’s gone.

again i say ARGH!!! i’ll try to re-write it and have it back up here by the end of the day.

Hey there all! I’m back from vacation, back to work, and trying to get back into the swing of things. Why is it that the day after vacation always seems so much more hectic than every other day?!?! I will be back to regular posting soon (probably not until tomorrow) but I’ve got a couple of great things to share, a few awesome reviews, and even a giveaway in the works.

so, i’m taking today off from writing. but i’ve got a good excuse … it’s my birthday! i might be back later today with some Showtime-y goodness, but for now, i’m going to sit on my couch, drink soda, and watch tee-vee. i’ve earned it.

i’m super exhausted right now from a whirlwind weekend out of town. got back in time to watch my tivo’d Tudors, and then pass out. that said, updating won’t happen here until later today, although when it does, i’ve got A LOT to say about this latest episode. so head back after 5pm to check it out.
