“Christmas Is Ruined”

In what is one of the sadder episodes of Huff thus far, every character is tested this holiday season, and much is revealed. From Russell’s possible romantic interest to Beth’s mother, from Huff’s father to Byrd’s girlfriend, even one of Huff’s patients must learn to live with the new moments being tossed about.
Every Christmas Beth’s family heads out to visit the Huffstadt family for the holidays. This Christmas is to be especially difficult as Beth’s mother has cancer, and Beth is obviously fearful of seeing her mother in a chemotherapy-weakened state. She doesn’t have to worry about this for long, however, as a healthy looking Madeline (Swoozie Kurtz) walks into the Huffstadt household and quickly announces she is not, in fact, going to be receiving any chemo. With the cancer having spread everywhere in her body, this is a sure death sentence, and the entire family must now deal with losing Madeline.
This could not be the only dramatic thing to happen in this episode, however. Byrd’s girlfriend shows up to secretly visit with him, alone, in his bedroom. Slutty!!! And Russell and Izzy are acting obviously strange around one another after their “sordid evening” together.
Just when you think things are about to calm down, everyone settling into the Christmas evening, Izzy goes and does an incredibly humane and caring thing for her dear friend in the hospital. Can’t wait for the next episode!
