Doing The Backstroke - Weeds recap

Show of hands. How many of you had already seen the first episode of Weeds before it aired tonite on Showtime? If you’re like me, you’d already seen it because you’re a Showtime Insider. This does not diminish it’s amazingness, however, as I watched it again and loved it all the more. But.

As most of us have already seen it, I’m going to just highlight my favorite parts rather than give a play-by-play.

For starters, I know Celia’s always been a bitch, but when did she go all turbo on all of Agrestic? Not that I don’t enjoy it, because I actually love it, but I wonder when she hit that final hurdle and went from difficult yet lovable to Turbo Bitch. Because taking Silas’ car? Turbo Bitch. Cutting up Nancy’s weed and then soaking it in the pool? Turbo Bitch. No remorse whatsoever about any of it??? Super Turbo Bitch. I cannot WAIT to see how good it gets with her this season!

Dean and Doug, however, had to have shared my favorite scene in the entire first episode. High on Tylonal with Codine, these two decide to jerk off in front of one another to see who’s got the bigger dick. While waiting for their mud masks to dry. While an elementary school graduation party is commencing just outside the bathroom door. Tremendous.

We can’t forget the glue that holds this show together, though. The Bowtin family is dealing with some serious shit in this first episode. Silas is in jail, Nancy has both the Armenians and U-Turn after her, and Shane has been ditched by Kat for a trucker named Bear. We still don’t know if Andy has found him, or if he’s just found the car, but I cannot wait to see how these three find each other again in the second episode!
