Drunk And Disorderly Keeps Jonathan Rhys Meyers Off A Plane

by Robyn Charles

Leave it to Mr. “I’m never drinking again” to prove he’s still the same old Jonathan we love. Sunday Meyers was arrested at Dublin Airport trying to get on a plane drunk. After being confronted (twice) and charged with (two counts of) violating the Public Order Act, Meyers spent some time in the slammer (read drunk tank) before being allowed to make bail and head home. He was on his way to London after filming a segment for a Dublin talk show.

Best part? He might have kissed the flight attendant at the plane’s gate after telling her he would be getting on the plane!

Meyers has been in and out of rehab already once this year (April) and claims to have been completely sober since, although the pictures of him from his August Rush promotion blitz might suggest otherwise. He claims he doesn’t want to be drinking right now, instead focusing on his career, and has even made a point to stay away from Ireland, where the hard drinking culture makes it difficult to stay sober.

So he’s in town for one night and gets so drunk he can’t get on the plane? Class. Straight up class.
