finally, a good episode
Well, i’m happy to say my girls didn’t let me down with this week’s episode. From moment one, with the hot little sex scene between Alice and Phyllis, to the final scene of sexy Shane in her boy’s undies and pissed off looks, this episode definitely redeemed all of Jenny’s whiny moments in earlier weeks.
Speaking of, I was happy to see Jenny’s back to her bitchy and conniving ways. I need to clarify that Jenny has always been one of my favorite characters. Watching her growth over the last four years has been one of the highlights of the show for me. Which is why it was so disconcerting that this season she seemed to be much more shallow and self-obsessed. Which Jenny has always been to a degree, but this was just too much, even for her!
On the whole, the episode was amazing. I have but two beefs with it.
First, why does every man on the show need to eventually turn out to be a “bad guy”? It’s obvious Angus will end up cheating on Kit, and he will thus be thrown into the group of men that have already been brushed aside on the show as bad. Not all men in the universe are evil, though, and to paint them as such gives a false image of what women, lesbians, and even the women on the show think of men.
Second, the complete lack of mention of Dana was made horrifyingly clear in this episode. Towards the end of the show, after the AWESOME basketball game the girls played, they were discussing “lesbian sports”. When they got to tennis, they almost said Dana’s name, but then paused and moved on. What’s that about?!??!!! Who loses a friend so quickly to such a scary disease and then doesn’t mention her again two months later?
In all, I thought it was a good episode, though. Head over to showtime’s webpage to check out scenes from next week’s episode!
