L Word recap - season one, ep. 5-8
episode 5 - while Jenny and Marina continue their affair, Tim is left in the dark. Tina finds out she’s pregnant, but Bette is one of the last to know. Alice meets a hot man who turns out to be a lesbian-identified man! a busy episode for her, she also has to deal with her actress/mother’s financial missteps. Bette conquers her board of directors with the help of Peggy Peabody.
episode 6 - Alice’s mom tries to join “the chart” for a kiss she shares with Shane. Dana’s sexuality causes a problem for her agent, and that causes the first in a series of problems for her and Lara. Tim catches Jenny with Marina and rather than end their relationship, the two run off to Tahoe and married. The marriage obviously the wrong decision, Tim leaves Jenny (and his ring) in the hotel with her without a word of explanation. Bette and Tina tell Bette’s dad about the baby, but are suprised and upset when he reacts unfavorably.
episode 7 - in one of the strangest (and least-liked) episodes of the season, Jenny hitchikes around while Tim freaks out. Bette heads to NYC leaving Tina behind to be harrassed by Marcus’ crazed girlfriend. Alice and Lisa begin an ill-fated romance. Shane gets a career boost from a “hollywood mafia fag” who starts sending her clients. The girls all get together for an all-night poker game at Bette and Tina’s to keep Tina company while Bette’s away.
episode 8 - Jenny comes back; after Tim throws her out, she seeks out Marina, who takes her in. this is just a temporary move, however, as Jenny discovers Marina actually has a girlfriend who will be back after a long work-related absence. Alice, Shane and Dana stage an intervention for Bette and Tina, who they feel are becoming too closed off and obsessed with the pregnancy. Dana deals with more prejudice from her agent, causing a breakup for her and Lara. Days later, subaru outs her with their ad campaign, which Dana loves.
