L-Word Spinoff Pilot Finished!
Just when you thought you’d never get to see Alice again, Showtime confirms the pilot for The Farm, the L Word spinoff taking place in a women’s corrections facility, has finished shooting and is ready for viewing!
Unlike the L Word, however, this show does not center solely on lesbians, but the women of the correctional facility in general. Releasing the fact that Leisha Hailey stars in the show seems like admitting who killed Jenny Scheckter to me, but I’m betting die hard fans won’t care so much. If it means more prison scenes like the ones from the first season of The L Word, we’ll all tune in for sure!
For now we have to be satisfied knowing Hailey’s involved, along with guest stars Famke Janssen (of Nip/Tuck and X-Men fame) and Laurie Metcalf (from Roseanne). Ilene Chakin, the creator of The L Word, is the impetus behind the spin-off, so you can bet if Showtime picks up the series there’s bound to be tons of great directors tapped for episodes.
Until Showtime announces it has officially picked up the series, we’ve got to be content with little tidbits like this.
