Toni Collette On Motherhood

In a recent interview with The Advocate, Toni Collette discussed not only her turn on Showtime, but also how motherhood has changed her life.
“I don’t think anything I could say could actually really explain how it feels. Until you become a parent, there’s no real understanding.”
Collette has been a huge star in the gay community for years, thanks to roles in Muriel’s Wedding and Velvet Goldmine, along with her many turns on Broadway. And true to form, Collette had powerful words for the magazine when they asked her how she’d feel if her 13 month old daughter Sage ever came out to her.
“I wouldn’t care, as long as she’s happy,” Toni replied. “Look, life is short, so why limit it? I accept people and their decisions no matter what they are. In fact, I think that’s the biggest problem in the world: People want others to align themselves with their beliefs. If people were more accepting of differences, it would be a much more peaceful planet.”
Well said Toni. Well said.
