“Turn The Page” - Californication recaps

Poor Karen! With just one episode left, and not much time before her impending wedding, it would seem the little family she’s built for herself is falling apart … Again. Hank’s got problems with Mia (shock!), who has stolen his book and is pawning it off as her own, and Becca’s starting to think she needs to be the adult in her little f*cked up family. For the full recap, keep reading!

After spending some quality daddy/daughter time only to drop Becca off to Karen being fitted for her wedding dress, Hank is hit with yet another bomb shell. Becca wants to live with him! It’s only later, as she’s talking to Mia while packing up her room, that you find out she’s doing this because she’s worried her dad has nothing and will spiral downward without her there. Poor Becca is losing her childhood too fast, all because her parents can’t seem to work their lives out.

Mia, ever the sociopath, is still shopping her book with Charlie and Dani. Dani keeps using this book deal as a way to keep Charlie in her clutches, and I get the feeling it isn’t the first time she’s done this sort of thing. She is, however, bringing in a bunch of big publishing firms to read “Mia’s book”, but her constant “I’ll go to HR” threats are getting super old. If she was going to she would have already, and I think Charlie should just kick her ass to the curb.

Hank finds out Mia’s stolen his book and tries to bust up a meeting with a publisher to no avail. Resigned to the fact that he can do nothing about it (if he tells people it’s his book, she’ll tell them it’s her in the book, and he’ll go to jail for statutory rape as well as lose Karen and Becca forever), at least Charlie finally figures out it’s Hank’s book.

With no great sex scenes or fights to add to this episode, it’s clearly the “one before the end” in presentation. Every moment is setting up for Karen and Bill’s wedding, possibly happinging next week. Will Becca stay with Hank? Will anyone stop the wedding from happening?
